"KODIAK" has nearly a 20' beam and offers an enormous amount of space throughout. The large covered aft deck includes a molded staircase leading to the flying bridge, built-in seating with large teak table and overhead lighting. It also provides for a door on the back side of the staircase that leads directly down into the engineroom/ crews quarters area.
The covered walkaround recessed sidedecks with Portuguese bridge forward with a great deal of storage and large foredeck area with built-in seating and additional storage.
When heading into the salon from the aft deck, the furniture is all beautifully finished and free-standing; it's all movable, which provides a great deal of flexibility and space as well as comfort compared to standard built-in furniture. As you move into the pilothouse, it has been redesigned in 2008 to offer both port & starboard doors that access the wide sidedecks and provide ventilation for this area. A newly designed settee is on the starboard side forward with storage below. As you enter the pilothouse level, on the starboard side, you have a walk up to the flying bridge from the pilothouse. From the port side, you have the large U-shaped well-appointed gourmet galley.
The accommodations below decks are fantastic! The master stateroom is aft and she is enormous with a smartly designed head area with his & her areas with separate features for each person. The guest staterooms are also quite large with two single berths and ensuite head with stall shower in the starboard guest stateroom and a VIP stateroom forward, which shares the day head on the port side, which also includes an ensuite shower. Again, all furnished in the lavish teak and fine joinery work that is Grand Banks Yachts' standard just like.
The flying bridge features an extremely large and well laid out floor plan with two STIDD helm chairs forward, large settees on both port & starboard with storage below, a 1,300lb. Airtex hydraulic davit, enough room for the Novurania 400Dl 13' center console tender and much more. Aft of the port settee on the bridge is a wet bar with refrigerator, grill and sink. The flying bridge decking is non-skid, not teak decking for easy maintenance. At the aft, port side of the bridge is the wide, curved molded staircase to the cockpit.
There are crews quarters at the aft end of the boat that feature two berths over & under; a full head with shower, refrigeration, hanging locker & drawer storage with full stand up headroom. This area can be accessed through the port side deck door on the back side of the flying bridge staircase that leads directly into the area. This also is an easy way to access the engineroom.
The engine room is full height with extremely easy access to all systems on board. Her equipment features Naiad stabilization along with hydraulic bow and stern thrusters and 13/5kW & 21.5kW Onan generators with sound shields (both equipped with gas/water separators that help keep a noise to a minimum). The twin C-15 (853hp) Caterpillar engines provide power to cruise the boat anywhere at speeds between 8 and 16 knots comfortably. Her underbody is not like the older style Grand Banks which were a totally semi-displacement hull that did not provide good performance at any speeds above 11 knots. The newer style hull design is right between a planing hull and semi-displacement. We call it the “hull of versatility” because she performs so well at all these different speeds. This hull form is how all of the newer Grand Banks are offered.
